Random! Again!

So today's going to be a quick entry before I head off to bed. No more scheduled posts! I've run out, so this will have to be a short one.

ST, if you're reading this, next time you go yum cha, make sure someone orders this and you try it~ because you really need to try this. It's like a bread stick wrapped with... um... sheets of soft... noodle like... thingy... gosh I suck at writing food descriptions.

Freebies on a rainy day! Person was just handing out yoghurt drinks!

New place that opened up downstairs of Regent Place. Miss Chu- a Vietnamese tuck shop. It would be pretty accurate as a tuck shop IF it weren't so expensive! My brother's tried it and said it's OK, the rice paper rolls and dumplings are their specialties I think, but he did say it was too expensive.

From 06.12
Azuma's creme brulee and tea set! I'm not particularly fond of creme brulee (I know, shocking!) because it's like custard, but not firm enough, so it feels like custard that's not done right. Gotta love the crispy caramelized top though! Easily done with brown sugar and a blow torch, but not everyone can be bothered making this at home, including myself.

And I certainly won't be using fresh vanilla beans if I were to make this myself either. Vanilla extract right? So much cheaper~

From 06.12
Dumplings with BT while bridesmaid shopping one day! Shanghai Stories, I think this was at. Chatswood!

Weird colours, I know. Phone camera plus some kind of weird filter which Vignette automatically puts on it, think it's called Portia. Hot and Sour soup!

From 06.12
Cannot leave a Shanghai restaurant without trying their xlb.

From 06.12
Or in this case, two steamers of xlb :D They do them pretty well.

From 06.12
After a little shopping, dessert time! Would have seen this before, from ZenQ, their bread box~ End of random post! I'll try to make up something a little more substantial and cohesive tomorrow... after work... like that's going to happen, haha.

You made it sound so appealing, but it does look good - bread and noodles two of my favourite things :).

Actually what *is* the name of that kway teow wrapped yao zha guai anyway.. My family hardly ever orders that at yum cha so I never figured it out.

It's called Zha Leong (Zha Liang in mandarin I think?) It's the best, but rather than getting it from the trolleys, I think you gotta order it with the staff so they can make it fresh... once they've been sitting awhile, they aren't good anymore.

Good point - should try that next time.
